How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP6230501 / 5304508629 Starter (Compressor Start Relay)

I had used AppliancePartsPros in the past for parts and advice to repair the pump on a washing machine. Since I was very pleased with the instructional video for the repair and the part was exactly what I needed to complete the repair I returned to AP for help. I ordered an new capacitor, overload protector, & starter PTC from the AP suggested parts list. I removed the old parts (they were definitely bad, you could hear them rattle inside) and replaced with the new parts. Plugged in the fridge and the compressor fired right up! Quick repair for under $20.00. My advice to DIYers, take lots of pictures with your phone before removing original parts. It makes the reassembly much easier and takes away all of the guess work. 

Replaced the capacitor and ptc switch. 

Replace all three parts but at he end it worked 

Installed part that needed replaced took about 10 min. Ordered part and it arrived as stated. 

I did some research on line and determined that the most likely problem could be a bad starter relay. Found AppliancePartsPros, and found the exact replacement part for it and ordered. Part showed up as promised. Replaced the part and frig has been running like a top. 

Replace the starter. 

Internet troubleshooting, for possible causes, not listed in manual. Process of elimination, drew me to either the relay, or overload protector. For the cost, including shipping, was far better, than replacing a 4 year old, $400 refrigerator. Replaced parts, and "Plugged her in". Worked like a charm. 

By using a search on the net, I was able to determine that the relay was bad. It rattled when shook. I took it apart and sure enough the insides where broken. I am not a refrigerator repairman, so everything I did was pure trial and error. I was hoping the one that I bought would work. For 4 dollars, it was worth a chance. I marked the wires on the old one, put the new one on and off she went. That was a week ago and it is still running and cooling. 

Replaced compressor start relay,(Starter- PTC). Couldn't find the Kenmore replacement part anywhere. Finally found the part on your web site by looking at the "Thumb nail" pictures of your available Start Relays. Part was delivered in less than 24 hrs.
