How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP2591804 / 5303935086 Surface Unit Switch Kit

Replaced the switch assemblies controlling each burner. 

Replaced old part with a new one 

Electric stove. I had traded out the old heating element with a different one I knew worked; that didn't help. Next thing to replace was the control unit that the dial selected the heat. The result. I replaced two of the four controls. One unit worked very well and was comparable to the old unit except it heated right away. The big heating element on the stove heated quite a bit hotter so I burnt my french toast the first time out. It will be a matter of getting used to the new setting. I still have to do some experimenting, my wife likes the repair. I did need to use my ac voltmeter to test the circuits to make it work properly. My qualifications: I am an electronics technician and have dealt with a lot of 220 volt systems. 

Bought a new switch and it works fine 

Ordered the part which came quickly. It was a quick to remove the old one, and put the new one in

Bad and good...when I opened the soft pack to install it, the shaft was broken on the new one, whether in shipment or from your stock supply, I don't know. Anyway, I called customer service and another is being sent at no cost to me..so that's good...now about the wife's patience..........
