How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2024072 / WB24T10025 Range Infinite Switch 8 Inch

Unplugged oven, removed 4 nuts off the back upper panel, took 2 screws off the front under where the knob plugs in, unplugged connection wires from old switch and replaced in the same location on the new one, then reassembled in reverse order. 

I ordered 2 new 8" elements along with the correct drip pans. I also ordered the replacement control switch and wiring plug/harness. Watched the Appliance Parts Pros repair videos and everything is working as designed. 

Ordered the part from you and installed it......was funny though, because the installation video said to "take a picture" of where the wires went in order to see where to put them......it was very easy to just pull the five wires off the old switch one at a time and install on the new switch.....how did we EVER survive so long without those cameras? Just FYI, more screws needed to be loosened to slide the back panel down, and they weren't mentioned in the video...only took 30 secs to do this. 

Ordered the GE burner control from AppliancePartsPros.com, the part came, I figured out how to replace it, and it works like it is supposed to. Took about 45min to do the job with a few simple tools, like a #2 phillips, #20 star drive and needle-nose pliers. Have a front nob style stove, a GE true temp, and needed to take out five screws on the burner control panel: 2 side, 3 below. Had to first pull out the stove from the wall about 6 inches, disconnect the power also. Just moved the wires from old to new in sequence, using pliers, one at a time. Eazy-peazy. 

I ordered a new one and replaced it 

Replaced control switch 

Replaced infinite switches. They were blackened and had burned contacts. Appliance Parts Pro had fast delivery (3 days standard shipping) and quality OEM parts. Will definitely be using them in the future! 

Replaced the switch 

Erratic heating of the element and a clear snapping of the switch was a classic diagnostic. I just substituted the new switch (which fit perfectly) for the old. The switch contacts were frayed and the housing (inside) was charred suggesting the inability of the switch to handle the current needed for the 8" element. 

Purchased new burner module and replaced the faulty one
