How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2024072 / WB24T10025 Range Infinite Switch 8 Inch

Ordered a new infinite switch, replaced it. 

Propping up the cooking surface of this GE slide in stove, I removed the 3 screws holding on the front control panel at the top and--opening the oven door--removed the 6 screws holding it at the bottom. Slid the panel out to access the switch. With the old switch still in place, I removed the wires one by one and attached each to the new switch. Then removed the screws holding the old switch in place and screwed the new switch to the panel. Repositioned the control panel back into place and secured the screws. Reattached the original knob to the new switch.

The switch was replaced. 

Followed video for installing replacement part. Took more time to clean the sides of the stove than install the part. Video was super helpful had link to it on email sent to me concerning it being shipped. Arrived quickly after ordering. Will definitely recommend to anyone 

Determined the burner switch was not working. Ordered new switch and replaced existing. Burner works properly 

Ordered new 2600w watt control for a 8" burner. Turned power off to stove & verified no power. Remove top back panel from stove that covers the burner controls. Pry knob off with flat blade screwdriver. Remove 2ea very small phillips screws. Let control hang by wires. Install new control by poking stem thru opening and then using the 2ea screws removed earlier I mounted the new control in place. I then swapped the wires over 1 by 1 to ensure they were in the correct location. Control was an exact replacement. Pushed the knob back onto the stem making sure it was in the correct orientation. Reinstall the back top cover. Turn power back on. Turn knob to on. Burner heats up as expected. 

I replaced the infinite switch for the 8in. burner 

Replaced switch 

Ordered an infinite switch from Appliance Parts Pros and replaced the switch. I had replaced this switch 2 and a half years ago, so I am hoping this time it lasts longer.
