How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2038323 / WD1X1316 Solenoid Armature And Linkage

I researched my dishwasher model number on the AppliancePartsPros website. It identified two possible defective parts. After a visual inspection, I could see that my solenoid had overheated and was melting. The videos on the website showed me how to remove and replace the defective parts. I replaced the solenoid and armature. The actual parts replacement took less than one hour, but I had to remove and reinstall the dishwasher, so the total time spent was about 3 hours. 

Replaced the arm valve, solenoid armature, and the solenoid. 

Replaced the bad Solenoid Armature and Linkage. Which corrected the drain issue. 

Replaced timer and some solenoid parts. 

I replaced the timer, which was pretty easy. Then I replaced the solenoid as well as the armature and linkage. The old one had basically melted and the plastic fused to the armature. It was pretty easy to get the old one out- although that electrical plug did NOT want to come out. Felt like I was going to break it, but eventually got it out. You will need a fairly short screwdriver to get in the small space. The hardest part of getting the new one in was that little "E clip," but I got it eventually. Since then it's been running great!
