It was a gradual loss of baking over a few weeks. So I decided to replace my element that was only less than 2 years old. (Previous element was 15 years old.) Turned out one high temperature disconnect was fried and damaged the male end of the bake element (I surmised from the power surge at time of outage) so I ordered the disconnect. Replacing the disconnect was easy: remove back oven wiring cover, cut the old wire off just past burn point, strip the wire, place the new disconnect on and crimp. Attach the disconnects to the bake element and re-attach to oven wall. Replace cover on back of oven, plug back in and we have power to bake again!
