How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP4363645 / WR55X10832 Control Board Assembly

Replaced to the main control board on the rear of the unit, works great now. Thanks for your help. 

Replaced main control board and now refrigerator works perfectly. 

Technician said problem was the main board & we could swap the board ourselves. We ordered the part on Friday, it shipped by end of day and we had it on Sunday. Amazing, impressive service from Appliance Parts Pros. Repair took only 35 minutes and now our GE Profile (21 year old) refrigerator works like new. 

Replaced control board in rear of refrigerator. 8-10 screws to remove panel and the board was easily removed and replaced. Take pictures before removing connectors so you know where they go on the new board. Board is attached by some plastic pins. No tools to remove, just pull it out. 

I removed the old control board and noticed a couple of burned / browned areas of the board. I replace the board - the fan came on but the compressor did not, it was making a clicking sound. I then had to replace the capacitor and switch that plugs into the compressor. After that the fridge cooled. I don't know the order in which the part failure happened. My guess is that the capacitor failed first and the control board burned out by repeatedly trying to get it restarted. But that is just a guess.
