How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP7188100 / WR55X10942C Refrigerator Main Control Board

Replace Main Control ASM... with Appliance Parts Pros help couldn't have gone smoother. I even had a repair man tell me it was Tim to buy a new one..... unit works great now 

Took the part out, got serial model # ordered it and ins t alled. My simple 

Based upon other reports, purchased the control board. Clear instructions based upon configuration. Easy to remove the old, and install the new. Up and running again. 

We ordered the main controller board and installed it in less than 15 minutes! The refrigerator works! Yay us!!! 

I had a host of issues with this fridge. I bought it off Craigslist and "it works great". Lol, ya right. The evaporator fan was dead. Replaced it with new fan. Stopped getting as cold as it should. The heater element burned open, repalced the heater. Seemed to have defrost issue (in defrost too long). Replaced ALL thermistors (had the old defective rounded type). Also replaced defrost thermostat. Still seemed to be in defrost too long. Now the evap fan runs at rapidly changing speeds. Ice cubes clump in ice bucket. One thing left to repalce.. the circuit board. Seems to have fixed ALL of my problems. Easy to replace. 1/4" nut driver and needle nose pliers. Works great now! Thanks!! 

Replacement of main control board was easy with clear instructions provided. The connectors are different so it is easy to get them where they belong without mixing. Also needed to remove inside freezer panel and defrost coils to complete the project. There was some dust on coils so cleaned them but not main source of problem. 

Replaced the Main Control Board. Switched the ground wire at the suggestion of the video, nice touch. Easiest thing in the world, saved $1000. Thanks! 

Found problem to the mother board. So I ordered a mother board and it was at my doorstep the very next morning. Easy instructions easy repair. 

After doing a bit of research I determined the motherboard could be faulty. I ordered the part, the instructions that are included were helpful. I removed and replaced the motherboard,. It was simple. Just be sure to mark the plugs, to keep them in order, as they are removed. 

Replaced it. works fine now. thanks.
