Sheryl R Snoqualmie , WA December 17, 2016 Appliance: Model SBC1001 Display board non functional Part had to be one of 3, chatted online with AppliancePartPros.com and they determined it was the Digitron ($180 part). Ordered it immediately, came quickly, called APP for installation instructions, they forwarded PDF Schematic which helped show HOW to remove the cover correctly, etc to access the part. It was a "plug and play" part, took maybe 20 minutes tops and it works beautifully. My idea of success is that it works and there are no leftover screws! Appliance repair guy wanted $400..BTW, this is a convection oven microwave combo, retail $1,000 so repairing vs replacing it was a no brainer. I am a 70 year old female..going to replace my gas fireplace pilot next... Randolph R Raleigh , NC September 29, 2020 Appliance: General Electric Free Standing Microwave SCB1001KSS01 Data jumping all around the display frequent blinking of display I saw some reviews that it was either the transformer or the digitron. To simplify the process I decided to replace both since the hard part is taking the unit apart. Upon doing the swap and reinstalling the microwave, the display was much brighter though it was flickering around quite a bit. After about 30 minutes, all this calmed down and all appears to work perfectly now, though still brighter. Apparently the old Digitron had grown dim over the years as well. At this point I would say it was a success! Read More... 3 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Keith B Eclectic , AL July 10, 2022 Appliance: General Electric Microwave PSB9120SF1SS GE Advantium microwave… no power except for a single digit flashing on display. I checked all the fuses and thermal resisters, capacitor for continuity all were good. No one in my area wanted to work on the appliance. So, I figured it was the display or power circuit board. I replaced both and the oven is fixed. Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
Brian C Panama City Beach , FL March 03, 2017 Appliance: General Electric Microwave SCB1001MSS001 Digitron went on the fritx Tried 2 other parts before figuring out it was the digitron. Took the unit out of the wall and placed it on the kitchen table. Removed the case with a cordless screwdriver. I disconnected the wires from the capacitor because I heard a charge can be held and did not want to risk being shocked. I removed a few screws to gain access to the front panel. Unscrewed the digitron and disconnected the wire connector then screwed the new one in place. Plugged the connector and screwed everything back together. Very, very easy. Scott W Houston , TX April 17, 2025 Appliance: General Electric Microwave PSB1201NSS01 The microwave display was going crazy i couldn't read it any more I got a new display part. To replace it I took the oven out, and then needed to remove the side panels, and the housing so that I could get to the front panel. I unplugged the electronics and unscrewed the front panel. Then I was able to easily unplug the old display and plug in the new one. I screwed all the pieces back in and it's bright and shiny and clear now - better than new! The hardest part was assuming that the front panel would be easily removed like I saw in videos for other microwaves. Not so with this one. I just had to keep unscrewing and make sure the right screws went back in the right place. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers

Richard T Lafayette , CA February 19, 2024 Appliance: General Electric Microwave SCB1001MSS001 GE microwave display flickering After reading all the reviews, it was tough to decide which board to replace. I ended up replacing a transformer, the GE power board, the display control board, and the digitron in that order. Each board seemed to make some improvement in the brightness and touch response. But the flickering didn't stop until the digitron was replaced. Since it's operating like new, I decided to leave all three new boards in place. $650 in parts was better than the $2000+ for a new built-in microwave. Read More...
