How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3204994 / WE12X10009 Dryer Belt

Replaced all wear parts (belt, idler pulley, drum support, glides). 

Replaced rear bushing and used a synthetic grease rated at 600F. New upper felt to better center the drum and new belt. There is a small ball bearing and tin plate that will fall out of the rear of the dryer onto the floor when you remove the two bushing screws. Helps to have someone back there to catch them, and also when you put it back together. You cant reach around and do it yourself, your arms aren't long enough 

Ordered the new belt, waited two days, then installed the new belt. Installation meant unstacking the dryer, removing 8 screws, removing the top and front panels, positioning the new belt, then reversing the steps. Total time was one hour. 

I thought at first the belt was to long until I sized it up with the broken one and found it was the same size. I was wrapping the belt around the tensioner wrong. Once I figured out how to wrap it around the tensioner correctly i put the dryer back together and it runs good as new. This is the first time I've ever fixed an appliance. I feel like I saved a lot of money fixing it rather than going out and buying a new dryer. 

Gas valve coils were bad 

Removed the top,slid the belt in under the drum, aligned the belt on the tension pulley, replaced the top and good to go. 

After tearing down the dryer, I found the rear drum bearing(bushing) was worn. The belt appeared cracked and the felt was ok, but had wear. The ordering of parts went easy. Parts came in two days. I replaced the bearing kit and belt. I needed assistance to hold the bearing parts in place while attaching them from the other side. The dyer works well now. The felt was not the part I expected. The return process was easy. 

I look on the internet how to replace.it was a 10 minute job after that it work like new. Ii got a quote for 200 to fix it.i look all over the internet whit the model number and i found the OEM belt. On your website 56 dollars later the dryer is working
