How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP4390010 / WD12X10284 Fill Cap Assembly

Ordered new rinse aid tank and stopper, watched your repair video what was spot on and completed project in 20 minutes. Truly awesome. Thank you for being a great source of parts, and instruction videos! 

Easy. Put the wheels on screwed in the cap and Voila!!! Dishwasher ready to go! 

I replaced the rinse aid tank in 15 minutes with the part bought from you. 

Googled my dishwasher GE Pot scrubber 950 and was able to find the parts that needed to be replaced. Watched the video's which was also helpful in identifying the parts but also showed you how to put the new parts in. 

It was just the rinsing aid cap and the wheels for the bottom drawer 

Had my daughter look on internet for something that looked similar b/c all I had was the make of the dishwasher GE, but no part info or manual. Part is 22 years old. I was not optimistic I'd find a replacement and if had repairman, it would have been too expensive. I was suprised to fin the the part and it arrived so fast!

We found the missing parts by looking at a diagram on their porch Pro website. I then looked at the videos to determine how easy it was to replace these parts. I ordered them on the telephone after confirming that GE and Hot Point were the same unit. With the reassurance of the videos, I had no concern about repairing it myself. 

I'm not mechanically inclined in the least, but I would say this repair was quick and easy. I followed the instructions that came with the part and I watched the video on YouTube. Everything went smoothly until I put the detergent cap back on. It was rotating just fine, but the detergent door latch wouldn't stay shut. Neither the video nor the instructions indicated this was normal behavior until you get the door put back together, so I struggled here for a bit and took the lever on and off about 6 times. (Which added significant time to my repair.) Finally, I said "Well, let's see." and I put it back on the door... tada! Everything was peachy. Outside of that, it was a really easy repair.
