How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6037511 / WE18X25100 Lint Filter Assembly

Ordered the part, very easy to replace. 

Used your website to identify what parts were involved. Calling your customer service staff to identify exactly what should be purchased is a real value. I did not do that for this repair, (talked to them after the fact) and overbought and now am having to go through a return. Parts used are exactly what I needed, and the gas dryer has now been repaired. 

Ordered a new one. 

Pulled plug out and shut off has line. Removed front and top cabinet of drier. Cleaned in and around the dryer. Performed a continuity test on coils, overload, and igniter element. No continuity in the element; removed and ordered the part. Received parts and installed igniter and replaced lint filter. Turned gas valve to open and plugged in power. Turned on and gas-fired up as expected. Washed and dried one load of clothes. 

I ordered a replacement part. First, I ordered the wrong part, which will be returned shortly. I ordered the correct part, and it came early. 

Replaced the filter with a new one from Appliance Parts Pros. 

The drum was noisy and it was real wobbly. Went real easy especially when you have the correct parts and they fit just like the original one. The culprit was worn-out bearing support, but for insurance purposes, I went and ordered the dust collector. It was really easy for me since I’m an auto mechanic. .Having a very basic set of tools helps out. Very impressed with the quality of the parts

The problem was the front drum support bearing so I replaced it. I also replaced the trap duct assembly because it had a crack in it. The website was easy to use and all the parts were received quickly and fit perfectly and I was up and running in no time.
