How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2010255 / WB2X2058 Gasket

I have had this oven for 40+ years. It is an enamel oven, something that you can no longer buy. Because I did not wish to buy new, I decided to service it myself and searched for the parts I needed. AppliancePartsPros.com was the only site to offer all three parts, so many having been discontinued by other providers. I replaced the oven gasket, the broiler element & the lens without any difficulty. I have replaced the bake element previously as well. I am very grateful that I was able to keep my oven, thanks to AppliancePartsPros.com. 

Removed a total of 4 screws, one on each side of the oven wall near front and 2 in a clip at top of oven. After removing screws use a screw driver to slide oven wall out; remove old gasket. Install new gasket. The tricky part was to determine exactly the orientation of the gasket before pushing the oven wall back in place. The narrow part of the gasket must be inserted in the gap between the inner and outer walls. Use a screw driver to help position the gasket as up push the oven wall back in place. Replace all screws and the installation is complete. 

Just removed the old one and put on the new. it fit perfectly.

Replaced element & gasket 

Ordered new heating element and door gasket and replaced the bad parts. 

Took the two srews out from the inside, on right and left. Loosed the two hex srews athe top. Stuck the small flap of gasket in the slots on the oven.Then pressed the sloted part of the gasket around the edge on the oven with my finger, untill it was even all around. You may have to seperate the lip from the base a little with a srewdriver to give it some room for the gasket to set in slots behind lip. 

The directions did not include our model - it is an older oven. One of the comments was great in telling us we had to take the oven out, before installing the gasket. Appreciated the help from the clerk in tracking down the gasket we needed. This was a great experience for us. Thanks.
