Michael B Plano , TX June 08, 2016 Appliance: Model JVM132K004 Broken handle on microwave It was not clear that prying loose the retaining band, made of plastic, would not break it. If you use a putty knife, start prying between the latch openings and the outside edge of the door frame, and work top and bottom alternately to pop free the pressure clips inside the band, it will not break. Just don't pull on it without using the putty knife to pry it free first. Then it's obvious and easy what to do. Note that the screw that came with the replacement handle were way too long. George S Florence , SC January 10, 2016 Appliance: Model FROM INSIDE THE APPLIANCE Door handle was broken I gently removed the plastic perimeter from the back of the door to access the screws that secure the handle. I removed the broken handle. The new handle ships with two screws, but the top screw is too long. Reuse your original screws or replace the top screw with a shorter one.
