This was my first ever attempt to fix a 20-year-old dryer: Initially, I figured the worst and thought the main bearings had gone. I purchased the rear bearings, Drive belt, and some bearing slides. I reviewed the numerous videos on Appliance Parts Pros (website) as well as Youtube and decided to repair it since I did not want to come in close contact with any technician. Once I opened it up, I realized it was a different problem (the front plastic support bearing was shot). I ordered it along with the 4 plastic bearing slides.
Getting the belt changed was a bit tricky for me as I am of small build and in my 60's. Once I was able to get that covered, aligning the front plastic bearing was easy (following the excellent videos). I have surprised myself but more than anything else my wife !! Happy to say dryer is working like new thanks to Appliance Parts Pros. By the way, they are are not paying me to say this :-)
