Charles H Midland , TX June 01, 2014 Appliance: General Electric Refrigerator PSS26SGPASS The helix cracked Old one came off, and the new went on. The biggest issue was separating all of the component parts to get to the broken part. Slow and steady wins the race here. Thomas W Anthem , AZ February 17, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Refrigerator PSH25PSTASV The helix in the ice bucket was broken Accessed Appliance Parts web site and easily found the required part. Most helpful was the exploded view of the ice bucket and the video showing how to replace the auger cup. That video is essential to disassemble the bucket. The comment from other users were also most helpful to disassemble the ice crusher. However I found that when trying to remove the ice crusher blades they were restrained on the auger shaft by burrs caused by the blades re-action against the shaft. This required removing these burrs with a flat file. After trying to remove all the blades and bushings carefully to facilitate re-assembly, they became disoriented. The exploded view was helpful to get these back into the proper order but it would be more helpful if the dotted center line would be shown going through all these parts in order or another view showing these parts in order. I would suggest that when removing these parts they be slid onto a small rod to keep them in the proper order. The new helix required running a 3/8" drill through the center hole which was filled with plastic molding "flash". Bob G Freeport , NY February 28, 2021 Appliance: General Electric Refrigerator PSC23SGRBSS Ice maker nozzle was frozen solid, causing water to spurt out the back of freezer. When calling for fill water, the dispenser was leaking constantly and leaking on floor. Followed the excellent videos attached to each part. I had previously replaced the water tank when it had a terrible odor, so already knew how to remove water lines from valve and connectors. Water valve and ice machine fill line took me about 20 minutes. Hardest was when I pulled the old fill line out, the plastic nozzle was stuck in the freezer compartment. Had to work around it with a small screwdriver and pull out with long nose pliers. Maybe I didn't allow the freezer to warm up enough and it was still a bit frozen. Helix wheel was a quick repair...just forgot the washer and e-clip and remembered it after I snapped it together. Replaced the drive cup while it was apart as the original was showing a bit worn on the edges. All done in under an hour and works like new. Saved me a trip to the appliance store as the wife thought this was an excuse for a new refrig. Read More...
