Ken G Fort Collins , CO January 02, 2022 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher PDW9980N00SS Door cable broke. Ordered 2 new cables (didn't want to do this again real soon). After watching the video, it was a relatively easy repair. The most difficult issue I had was pulling my dishwasher out as there was no flooring under the dishwasher so I couldn't pull it straight out as the surfaces weren't level. Philip S Concord , CA September 26, 2020 Broken door cable and worn cable pulley I followed the guidance given by the repair video. It was very easy to complete the repair. The only problem was that the video did not suggest checking the cable pulley for wear and I had to place a second order because a new cable kept slipping out of the groove and the hook broke. The second order was shipped immediately but FedEx lost track of the package so instead of receiving the parts in 2 days like my first order, it took FedEx 7 days. The Pros were supportive during that fiasco. Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers

Joyce G Columbus , OH June 24, 2021 Hinge arm link broke on one side of dishwasher door I heard the part pop and the spring release when I opened the door mid cycle. I did not pull the dishwasher out, but based on what I heard I ordered the parts I thought would work. The Hinge Arm Link cracked and the spring released. I decided to just replace that piece and not the whole cable assembly in case I ever needed that part. Because the parts were so low cost I don't mind having the extra parts. Repair took about 10 min. Getting the dishwasher back in the cabinetry was more effort, though! Saved me a $$$ repair call for sure. Read More... Robert S Perrysburg , OH November 17, 2020 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher PDWT480P00SS Broken door hinge arm link. The hinge arm link for the left door cable broke so I replaced that part with a door cable (which includes the hinge arm link) and a pulley. The right side door hinge parts were okay but now in hindsight it probably would have been a good time to replace those parts since I had everything apart. The time consuming part is disconnecting and reconnecting the water supply line, drain hose, and electrical cables. The old water supply line was plugged with calcium deposits. Had to replace that with a new flex supply line. The repair would have been shorter if I didn't have to drive to the hardware store for a new water supply line. Read More...
