How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3672582 / WR17X11653 Refrigerator Ice Dispenser Door Assembly

I fixed the drip with a bit of silicone. I fixed the rusty parts Auger & End Plate by replacing them. I repaired the dispenser by replacing the defective door. I used the various videos connected with the parts ( including related parts that I did not replace but required removing them first) to learn and confirm how to properly remove and replace the parts. These were incredibly valuable, Thank You! 

The refrigerator has a door where the ice exits the freezer into your container when you want ice. This door is controlled by a solenoid. My solenoid was corroded and would not shut the door. I purchased the solenoid and the door and followed the videos and fixed the problem. 

With the help and use of your detail videos, I was able to pinpoint the exact location of the necessary parts to check and change. It ended up being the main control circuit board that was defective and was changed. Fridge is working good again.

Ordered a new door solenoid, housing for the light and switches (broke that when making a replacement of the cup actuator arm years ago) and also the rubber door itself. The parts were exactly the right ones. Everything fit correctly and I put it all back together and everything works like new again. 

The solenoid was the issue but since I had to take it apart, decided to replace the ice door assembly too. I used the supplied video to get an idea of how it went together. Only difference was that my solenoid had an extra screw and the head was rusted. This added a few minutes as I had to back it out carefully. I also took 10 extra minutes to do a thorough cleaning while I had it apart. The repair start to finish was under 15 by itself. 

I replaced the ice dispenser door and the gasket on the freezer door. Both were easy to do and the whole project took about 30 minutes. The "how to" video's were extremely helpful and made the project simple. It took longer to thaw and remove the built up frost in the ice dispenser than it did to replace the parts. The tip about letting the gasket sit in the sun was very helpful. The gasket on my freezer was even easier to replace than the one in the video. 

Replaced flap and solenoid 

Ordered "Ice Door Assembly" and received in two days; repair took 5 minutes. Now shuts tightly.
