How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2043227 / WE12X83 Idler Pulley

Watched your online video, and followed the same steps. Made repair easier than when I removed the old broken part. The new replacement part was of better quality than the original. Thank you. 

The video that was available with the selection of the part was excellent. One comment, my particular machine, same model number, there were differences. The control panel was mounted differently and the tools required were different. A 3/8" nut driver and Phillips screwdriver were needed. The repair went well.When I was reinstalling the dryer drum, I first tried from the front of the machine due to the available in my laundry room. I struggled getting it aligned properly and could not get the shaft aligned. I then stood to the side of the machine, and I easily installed it. From the side is as it is shown in the video. 

Dryer is about 40 years old Took the dryer apart put the new belt & pulley on took about 45 minutes. Now it works perfectly again. 

Ordered the pulley and changed it. 

Ordered parts from appliance parts pros and fixed in less than an hour. 

The drive belt was broken (very brittle), the drum slides were worn and two were broken and the top bearing support was broken. I ordered all the parts needed from you and after watching the provided videos I replaced the broken parts for the new ones and the Dryer now works like new. I did take the time to clean out all of the lint from the interior of the dryer cabinet and the exhaust vent. If I could convert alll of that lint back to clothes I would have a new wardrobe. There was a very large amount of lint. 

Replaced the front and rear drum bearing assemblies. And, by the way, the repair kits ordered from AppliancePartsPros were genuine GE parts, and arrived in just a couple of days...amazing. The repair videos were also very helpful. Probably could not have done the job without them. No telling how much I saved by doing the job myself. Thank you! 

Ordered a new idler pulley and in stalled it and the dryer works like a dream. The service we received from AppliancePartsPros was amazing. 

Removed small panel in back of dryer. Idler pulley rides on an idler arm that acts as the belt tensioner. Replaced pulley, reinstalled idler arm. Reinstalled panel.
