George H Milpitas , CA October 04, 2014 Appliance: Model GE PROFILE MODEL # JP989SK1SS Burner control switch wasn't working Removed power connection. Disassembled downdraft vents. Removed stovetop from counter. Unscrewed switch cover and power connection in order to get to the switch. Removed screws holding glass top onto stove. Lifted glass top away from stove bottom. Removed screws holding switch to stove bottom and pulled out switch. Removed wires from burnt out switch and placed onto new switch. Installed new switch onto stove bottom and screwed the two screws back in place. Reattached switch cover then attached glass top. Replaced stove top into counter.
