Luke R Cockeysville , MD June 12, 2014 Appliance: Model WHDVH626FWW Whdvh626fww inverter died abruptly washer wouldn't start wouldn't do its spin testing at the start of a load pump would run afterwards for a few minutes Used a multimeter to determine whether the motor or inverter was bad (Got Error 54 in service mode), which usually means bad motor or inverter. Switchboard was spiking power to the inverter (could hear faint clicking, and the multimeter spiked readings when testing the inverter's terminals from the switchboard, and the motor's wires all checked out with proper ohmage. Heard from other customers that inverter dying was the most likely situation. Bought this new inverter (it looks different than the aluminum default inverter the machine comes with, but it IS the upgrade/replacement needed). Swapped out the inverters, now T10, T11 and T14 spin tests will work in service mode, since before it would just beep twice (meaning something was wrong and the test wouldn't go through). Spent $300 and a little time for what would have costed me over $600 easily for calling out a technician. If you're having problems with your GE front loader washer not spinning all the time or not spinning at all, this is the fix. Don't replace the control panel. It's a faulty inverter.
