How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5956400 / WE05X20431 Lamp

I knew it would need some bearing slides, but when I opened up the dryer, I discovered it would need more to fix the issue. I discovered, I actually had only one of four bearing slides left and the e excessive wear had broken the bearing as well. I also discovered that I had a broken light bulb. I went on AppliancePartsPros.com, enter the model # of my dryer, found the parts I needed and great videos that showed me how to install the parts. Bing, bang, all done! 

Replaced the socket/wire harness and noticed slide bushings were worn / missing. We placed another order with them while unit was disassembled. Watched a video and it too was easy DIY. 

Replaced slide bearings and drive belt. Chatted with service rep and she got all parts correct, ordered, and shipped. Came days before I expected them. 

My first attempt was with a belt I ordered through one of your competitors. Impossible to get on. It was the wrong size and the drum wouldn't turn. I ordered another belt with a belt that was suppose to fit my dryer and it too was too short. Finally went back to AppliancePartsPros.com. Originally the part that my dryer called for was the same one I had ordered earlier. I told her that the belt should be 89.5" but the belt I bought twice was way too small. Sally went the extra mile and researched the part number telling me that it had changed and yes I was correct about the size. I did order the belt and a bulb, after being without a dryer for two weeks, it was worth the extra amount that I had to pay just to get the right part. Thank you Sally. 

Replaced the dryer belt. 

After watching the video I had a good idea of what the problem was so I took it apart and found what I think was the problem. It is a 2008 model and is working great except for the squeak so I decided to replace numerous parts to make it like new again. I was a little expensive to replace all of those parts but it is a lot cheaper than getting a new drier. I forgot to order a belt so I called them and they were able to add it to my order so I wouldn't have to pay extra shipping. The customer service was GREAT! My order arrived quickly. I have it back together and it is working great. 

Based on your recommedation, replaced the timer resistor. The only deviation from your video, at least I don't remember it was mentioned, I needed a torx screw driver to remove screws from the top of the control panel. My old Chrysler uses torx screws so I have a set of drivers. I was going to replace the timer, your repair video suggested replacing the resistor. The resistor is much less expensive and easy to install. So I replaced the resistor. If it did not work then I would replace the timer. As it turned out it was the resistor. The timer works great again. Dryer loads get dry without several restarts. You saved me a pile of money on the timer. My wife is happy with the dryer. She also likes the door light working again. Thank you. Your repair videos are terrific. 

I bought my parts online: Drum bearing kit, Front bearing, Belt. I forgot to get bearing slides made another order and received it within a few days. Repaired dryer with the help of the instructional video provided to me when I ordered my parts. Great customer support. 

New rear drum bearing and new front bearing were a simple straightforward repair. A video is available in line showing you if necessary what to do. While in there replaced the lint duct too. 

Watched several of your videos before ordering parts. Parts arrived in 2or 3 days. Reviewed the videos before starting. Found the 15 year old belt had broken. Replaced heater, belt, glides & light bulb. Dryer works great now. Excellent videos, great replacement parts, reasonable prices & super fast parts delivery.
