How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5956400 / WE05X20431 Lamp

Started testing continuity on all the thermostats. No problem there. Then I tried replacing the coils. Still had the same problem. I didn't realize that my igniter was bad until I tested its continuity. Ordered and installed the new igniter ... problem solved. Tip: Learn how to use a multi-meter. This is my go-to site for appliance repair. The web site, the install videos, the ability to chat with a technician are all great! I have repaired 2 dryers and an ice maker in a refrigerator using this site. Saved me lots of $$. 

Replaced all the parts that I ordered. 

I ordered the dryer drum front support because the old one was worn away where the drum glides attached and the glides would not stay put. I also ordered the lamp which was burnt out. It took 15 minutes to replace the parts and all parts worked together perfectly. We were close to purchasing a new dryer but this saved us several hundred dollars and it works again quietly. 

Took the old knob off put on the new knob. I did notice the new knob had reinforcement on the shaft, which should help prevent cracking in the future. Saved my dryer with a one minute repair. 

Installed replacement bulb.

Ordered the bulb and installed it. 

Bought the parts from this company and watched their very, very helpful step by step instructions to repair my problems. 

I watched 3 DIY videos on how to replace all parts. Disconnect electrical plug first. Then took the top control panel off, unscrewed the top and front panel of the dryer.Then continued to follow the videos as instructed. Put the dryer back together, plugged it in and everything works great!! My wife said the dryer works like new!!
