How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP7225583 / WH08X37938 Washer Lid Lock Service Kit

I checked the wiring harness/connections from the lid switch to the main control assembly for damage and replaced the Lid Lock Kit with a new kit. It is now working properly. Washing Simon's video on YouTube was also very helpful. 

With big help from tech support, I decided to order a lid lock service kit, because some people got the same problem with mine. Received an improved lid lock kit and put it on. Cleared up all the error codes and the washer started working back again like brand new! Part cost around 45 plus 12 for shipping. Big saving! Thanks all and keep up the good work! H, L 

Removed old switch and harness. Replaced and rerouted new harness and switch. Replaced lid catch and housing with updated ones from kit. Tested with no further issues. 

With the redesigned GE lid lock, took about 1hr. This new part looks like it will function better than the original. I replaced the original 2 years ago. Let's hope this part last longer than that. 

My wife and I fixed it, we watched a video on how to do it, it wasn’t hard at all.
