After some investigation, I found that the sump inlet tube for the fine particle screen had deteriorated, and in addition, the sump was coated in a white chalk like substance that kept breaking off and clogging the spray arms. I had used tweezers to try and clean the holes in the spray arms, but it would only last for maybe 2 washes. I ordered a new sump and middle and lower spray arms, and watched the video on how to replace the sump. Not too difficult if you have a small amount of mechanical ability. After the new parts were installed, dishwasher works like new.
Most likely saved hundreds in repair fees.
