How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6888676 / WB26X32629 Magnetron

Replaced magnetron 

Replaced magnetron. 

Replaced magnetron, diode, and capacitor. Now works as if brand new. Actually heats faster than previously. 

Replaced magnetron, diode and fuse. 

Ordered 3 parts to fix 3 potential causes. When I removed the microwave from the built in cabinet and tried to take the back cover off, 2 of the screws required a special drive pattern to remove the screws. Only GE approved repair facilities have this special drive. I called a repair company. They were great. They came out the same day, installed 1 of the parts purchased and the microwave was repaired. AppliancePartsPros responded to me several times, even on Sunday, about this problem. Great customer service! 

I bought a magnetron unit from you. It literally took me 20 minutes---start to finish, to install. 

Replaced the magnetron. 

Replaced the three things that everyone said to replace. The magnetron, capacitor and diode. Even though I tested the old ones and, according to my tester, they all tested as being good. But apparently not. As soon as I put in the new ones, about a fifteen minute fix, all was good again. 

With the Hurricane Harvey issues, it took 3+ weeks to get the part. Magnetron went in OK. New Diode caused a sparking noise. Changed back to the old Diode. No sparking and everything worked well. 

Replaced the Magnetron. An easy fix, taking only about 20 minutes to fix the problem: disassembly of the cabinet, removing and replacing Magnetron, reinstalling the cabinet, plugging in and turning on to check operation of microwave.
