I took out the tray and turned the microwave upside down. Using a flathead screwdriver and a pair of you needlenose pliers I broke off the breakaway access door in the middle of the microwave. After that, I unscrewed to set screws using a Phillips head, screwdriver, and magnetic screwdriver might be helpful here, and then unplug the motor and replaced it with a new one. Put the screws back in and put the access door on by rotating at 180° for the included tabs to line up with the slits in the bottom of the microwave. There was a set screw that I had to loosen and then use to attach the access door. It is truly as if GE had anticipated this exact repair. The whole thing took me about 20 minutes. Super easy! Thank you. AppliancePartsPros.com, and other customers! I read about this repair from another customer and decided it was easy enough to try on my own.
