I used a screwdriver to release the Element from the back of the oven (note: If you can remove the oven door, this is a MUCH easier job!) and pulled the broken Element out enough to be able to disconnect the 2 wires. I needed to use a small wrench as it they were not Phillips screws like the others were. I then removed the broken Element and set the new one in. When tightening the screws to the new Element, I had to hold things in place with a pair of pliers, as the ends of the Element tended to twist. I then stuffed everything back and attached the Element's plate to the back of the oven. (Unfortunately, I had to use the old sheet metal screws as the new Element came with machine screws that were of a larger diameter.) NOTE This job took over twice as long as it should have simply because I couldn't figure out how to remove the oven door. Had I been able to do that, it would've been a 15 minute job, tops. I turned the oven on to verify the work and the Element turned bright red very quickly. We're very satisfied with this Element.
