First, I am 74 years old, female, and didn't think I could do this. It was Friday at noon, and I called my home warranty when the lower oven blew up. This was before I opened the door and evaluated the problem. It was already smoking, and I had already seen the huge flash of light, so I thought it safe to presume there was a major malfunction. After I had already paid the service charge up front for a repairman to come out at his leisure the following week sometime, and after I checked his feedback and discovered NOBODY liked him, I decided to see what I could do about fixing the problem myself. It turns out the lower bake element had exploded, leaving metal shards all over the oven. After turning off the power and unwiring what was left of the bake element, I went searching for a replacement. The double wall oven is something like 30 years old, but lo and behold, AppliancePartsPros had the part! I ordered it around 3 pm on Friday, and it arrived the next day on Saturday around 5 pm, and I wired it in and voila! Everything works again!!! I cancelled the service request, got my service charge money back, and my ancient wall oven is now back in service, hopefully until I leave the house for the nursing home. Easy repair? You bet! Thanks AppliancePartsPros!
