How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3996165 / WR17X12125 Refrigerator Ice Dispenser Paddle

I ordered a dispenser paddle and spring. I also changed the spring on the flap door for the ice and changed the door switch for the freezer door which also controls the ice and water dispenser. 

Followed the instructions in your video. The demonstration is well done and easy to follow. 

I searched GE model dispenser lever parts and selected AppliancePartsPros.com. The parts manual came up with all the different pages I selected the one that had the push bar and found the parts I needed entered them into the cart and purchased parts arrived in no time at all I wasn't even counting and they showed up right parts put them in and it's all fixed. This is the 2nd part I have gotten from you guys I had to replace the auger for the ice maker before. 

Replaced parts. I viewed YouTube video prior. Easy installation. 

Watched a YouTube video and was able to do the repair. Also G.E. told me I need to buy a kit instead of this part and the kit was not necessary. Working fine with just replacing the paddle and the spring. 

We saw that hitting the water line with a heat gun would help melt the ice in the line. Well, that was a bad idea. It melted the paddle on our ice dispenser which eventually broke off. Eventually, I cleared the line with boiling water shot into it, but I had to order replacement parts for the paddle. The parts shipped extremely quickly and the repair itself took less than 10 minutes. The videos and information on this site were so helpful! 

Ordered the parts from you. Watched a you tube video and then went for it. Repair took about 15 minutes. Now everything works perfectly. 

Awesome, the parts were perfect and replacement video was very helpful. took about 20-30 minutes tops. 

Bought the parts, watched a youtube video on how to take apart the display, replaced the broken parts and the new spring, reconnected everything and it worked. 

I deceided to also replace other parts that were accsessable while changing the solenoid and they were not that expensive. I followed the on line instructions to replace all parts, which made it easy to do.
