How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2617344 / WD24X10018 Piston & Nut Assembly

Replaced the piston and nut ass'y. Very easy to fix. Received the part sooner than estimated despite it being the Holidays. 

Easy-peezy. Pulled out the piston & nut assembly. It was in bad condition and clearly needed to be replaced. Paid way too much to have the new one overnighted to me, but washing dishes by hand for a family of five is no fun. Installed the new piston and cleaned out the gunk in the filter. The machine is as good as new and no more pooling water. Only required a screwdriver with a hex-nut head to remove the screws on the filter and a hammer to loosen up the old piston & nut assembly. 

The last time this happened we had to pay over $178.00 to have it fixed. Watched repair man and this time bought piston an fixed it myself. Thanks Appliance Parts Pros for your help. 

Easy replacement job. Takes about five minutes. Stops water from lying in the bottom of your washer after it drains. But the bottom line is ApliancePartsPros is a fantastic company, they truly rock! Purchased the piston & nut assembly. Once I got the part, it took about 10 minutes to fix the dishwasher. 

I've been without a dishwasher for ages, ok, years, because it was not draining. Could not afford the repairman let alone a new dishwasher. Finally, yes it took me this long, finally found APP video on possibly fixing the problem and when I saw the high percentage of solutions with this easy fix I dove in. Hubs (80+ yo) is not as flexible as I am so I took on the task. (I'm also the one who always reads the instructions.) Not only did I fix a broken rack roller assembly (with extra parts on hand) I took apart the screen in back, found the corroded Piston & Nut Assembly, ordered the part and a week and 10 minutes later I installed the new part, ran a test rinse cycle then replaced the screen. Hubs is now taking me out to a fancy dinner and brags to all who will listen, that his wife is a genius. 

We watched the video on your website and ordered the part to correct the problem. We had difficulty removing the four screws to access the part, but finally got them out. We removed the old drain valve and replaced it with the part you supplied. Now it is working great. Thanks. 

Replaced Piston & Nut Assembly. 

I watched a video that showed which part was broken and I was able to replace the check valve quite easily. 

I replaced the check valve, GE part for about $16 and all was great in the universe again. very simple fix, 4 screws and a plastic cover. I guarantee if I called a repair man this would have been a $200 service call.
