How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP7180521 / WH03X33729 Transmission Assembly

I purchased gear box WH03X33729 from AppliancePartsPros.com and installed it following the video below submitted by Teknisimu on YouTube, Taking my time the repair took about 2 hours from start to finish. Change out old one for new one 

Replaced it 

I placed an 18 inch pipe wrench on the plastic spline on the bottom shaft and was able to use and extension and break-over bar to get the tub nut loose. 

Bought new trans from PPP, most difficult part was removing 1 5/16 tube nut, cut off shaft and used impact wrench to remove nut. 

I ordered a new trans. From Appliancepartspro.com. it's best to call they are very helpful of making sure you have the right fit for yours. It's very simple job just make sure you set up somewhere so you have plenty of room. Hardest part is getting the 33mm drum nut off. Don't try using adjustable wrenches. As you don't won't to strip the head. I have an electric impact so it came off easy just going back and forth, and remember it's reverse threads. Never did it before,and had mine done in about hour and half. 

Bought a new transmission the grease from old transmission leaked onto the lil drive belt 

Replaced the transmission assembly 

Checked GE website first. Didn’t have the parts I needed in stock. AppliancePartsPros.com did have them. Placed the order. Expected 2-3 days to get them. Showed up the next day. Correct parts and undamaged. Very good packaging for the transmission. Will be my first stop next time!
