How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP4980900 / WE4M416 Push-To-Start Switch

We ordered the part and when it got here the part wasn’t fitting . We called you and talked with Michael P. and went sent him pictures of what we were having problems with he told us exactly what to do. Once we took the two brown wires out of the old terminal replaced it with with a new piggy back terminal and put the wires back inside that terminal then the new part fit perfectly. I would recommend Appliance parts pros. to everyone , their prices and customer service and technical support team are excellent. 

Watched a Youtube video. Used the online help at appliance part pros and got the exact parts. Cost $24 including the $10 shipping. Easy fix. Saved probably $150 

Replaced timer and control knob. Glad I ordered the control knob, because that had cracked and would not advance the new timer (push to start switch was still good, so didn't really need it). Took almost as long to remove the back cover panel as to swap out the timer. The screws were very tight, had to go slow and easy to not strip the heads. No screws securing the timer, just a wing clip, easy to release and rotate the unit out. Swapped out wire connectors one at a time. Easy fix. I ordered a few parts in case the first one wasn't the problem. The interlock switch did the trick! A little time and little money, I fixed it with the help of the video! Thank you, thank you! 

I thought it was the start button, so I ordered that part.I replaced the part - no problem, but unfortunately, the results are the same, so I guess it is not the start button. I will now have to call for a repair. this is the second time this has happened on a new GE gas dryer that is less than 5 years old and only used twice a week. the first time it was within the 1 year warranty. I would not recommend GE appliances that's for sure. I want to say thanks for the quick delivery, the order and delivery was very easy. 

Replaced all four parts. Installation was easy except for the timer know not having a proper fitting. I had to do a little pliers work to get the know to slide onto the timer shaft.
