How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2621911 / WE1M462 Dryer Rear Drum Bearing Sleeve

I ordered a mess of parts that I thought were the culprits. With teenagers in the house, I was not able to take it apart early and determine what the issue was. I used most of the parts ordered and had that bad boy back up and running in less than an hour. The shipping and delivery was fast and accurate. Thanks 

Replaced motor. 

Felt trap duct, drum belt, ring, ring bearing sleeve. 

Changed the bearing slides, rear drum bearing sleeve, and the belt since I was there. 

After watching your videos on replacing the trap duct, rear bearing sleeve, bearing slides and upper front bearing support the dryer is like new again. I will say the videos were a tremendous help and confidence boost. They were spot on and I really didn’t come across issues. In fact if you have any mechanical abilities it was pretty easy. Turns out the smells were years of lint buildup in the drum back vent and also in the trap duct. A good cleaning and replacing the bad trap duct assembly and no more smells.

Determined it was probably the main bearing that was making the noise so ordered a rear drum bearing kit. My son-in-law and I took on the task after watching your how to video. He did most of work, I was just the holder of a flashlight or a screw when needed. Following your video instructions it was an absolute piece of cake to replace the bearing. Took a maximum of an hour and the dryer sounds like it did when new. Fantastic service as parts arrived within 5 days and your instructions are fantastic. Anyone who can use a screwdriver should be able to make this repair. 

Replaced both rear and top bearings and also the belt. Dryer works great now. Fairly easy job to do. 

Belt tensioner switch needed to be replaced. So I decided to replace the drum belt and bushing Direct replacement parts .Easy peasy 

I ordered both sets of bearing slides, and the rear drum bearing sleeve. The slides were easy to replace, but turns out the front support bearing (WE3M26) is cracked and also in need of replacement, so I would've been better off to order the Dryer Bearing Kit (WE49X20697) which contains both sets of slides and the front support bearing along with the belt and the felt strip - MUCH better deal. Not sure that replacing the rear drum bearing sleeve was necessary, but one thing to mention about that is to make sure you either order the o-ring or buy one locally (much cheaper), because mine was brittle and broke in half when removing - had to go to the hardware store to buy a new one. Replacing the drum bearing sleeve was more difficult - helps to have two people to get the drum back in place.
