How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2633753 / WB1X500D Screws - 12 Pack

It was simply a case of R & R. I pulled out the old element and put in the new one. I have done it before (this is a really old oven --- close to 40 years), so everything went pretty smoothly. The only trick was getting the correct element because it seems like the part number has changed at least 10 times. 

Ordered replacement bottom heating element. Part arrived quickly. I also ordered extra screws that the website recommended which helped a lot, as the old screws had rusted. I used a fitted wrench to take off old screws and remove screws attached to the electric wires. Easy repair. Works fine now. (The whole project took longer because I cleaned oven between removing damaged element and installing new one.) 

I ordered a new element, but when I went to replace it, the problem was one of my conduit thingy-ma-doodles attached to the end of the wire that attaches to the element. I watched a video online on the website where I bought the element(appliancepartspros.com) on the same issue, went to Menards and got a comparable conduit, connected it to the end of my wire and attached my new element. Oven works great!!! :-) 

Ordered new part on Monday night. Received it in Wednesday morning. Great service! Took less than 15 minutes to install. 

PLULLED OVEN DOOR OFF BY JUST PULLING UP ON IT , SLID RIGHT OFF ,SET OUT OF WAY . SHUT OFF STOVE BREAKER, GOT FLASH LIGHT. GOT NUT BREAKER AND LOOSENED SCREWS AND TOOK THEM OUT AND UNPACKED NEW ELEMENT, GOT NEW SCREWS OUT OF PLASTIC BAG AND REINSTALLED SCREWS IN ELEMENT AND WIRES. PUSHED WIRES BACK IN OVEN BACK AND INSTALLED SCREWS IN THE BASE OF ELEMENT . TURN BREAKER BACK ON AND WALLA., THE ELEMENT WORKS GREAT. 

I gave it to my husband and he removed the old one and installed the new one, which took about 10 minutes it works wonderful now 

Thought heat element was shot.I thought if I could replace it I could save an expensive service call.Went to your site,easily found part and HELPFUL VIDIO! Part was less than $30.Best of all,it worked..Thanks for your fast service.Recieved it in 2 days... 

I replaced both oven elements and the stove works like new- pretty good considering it is really 35 years old... 

Replaced the baking elements in the upper and lower oven. It was so easy to replace. The nice thing is that the website recommended the screws I might need too which I ordered and am glad I did because the old ones were rusted. Amazing that I could find parts for a 30 year old oven. 

The longest amount of time for the entire repair was the time it took me to research the availability of the Baking Element for an older GE Hotpoint oven. I used the model #, and eventually found the current Bake Element that could be used on this oven because I didn't know which company would be most trustworthy concerning their parts info, reliability of the part itself, reliable delivery, safe purchasing practices, etc. Your website made it very easy for me. I have the most basic and modest of mechanical know-how...primarily, I'm not afraid to try, but at the same time, I know my limits; i.e. if any repair gets too involved (or requires heavy lifting) I know I have to throw in the towel and call the professionals! But your video was great, I understood what to do, I double-checked the part recommended on your site by measuring, etc. The part arrived within a few days--without special, costly shipping. I had the part installed and the oven working within 10 minutes from opening the box to washing my hands!
