How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3191247 / WB24T10071 Switch Gas Valve

We replaced the switch glass valves. 

Removed grates and screws holding burner bowls and then removed glass top and knobs. Removed front panel and removed and replaced switch, reassembled. 

Ordered the Switch Gas Valve and it arrived the next day. I removed the knobs, grates & burner diffusers, unscrewed the burner trays and removed the wires connected to the igniter, then removed the trays. After lifting the glass cook-top, I replaced the Switch Gas Valve in seconds. After cleaning all parts, (glass cook-top, burner trays, gaskets & knobs) the job took about an hour. Without the cleaning, the job would have taken minutes. Switch now works as it should. 

Called appliance partsPros, the knowledgeable agent explained which part was probably defective, I ordered Switch gas valve and replaced it, worked like a charm. Thank you salesperson , he was right on! 

We replaced the 4 switch gas valves and the sparking stopped. Yippee! 

Replaced the surface burner ignitor and ignition switch. 

I changed out the switch gas valves. The clicking stopped. An easy change. The hardest part was aligning the stove top. 

Replaced the switch, gas valve. 

This was a simple fix. The igniters and valve I received, were a simple unplugging of the old igniters and plug in the new ones, (two wires). The valve removal and installing the new valve was just a matter of removing the faulty valve by unscrewing a nut which was attached to a gas line, Then installing the new valve by placing the valve in its place and tightening the nut. 

Old one off, new one installed.
