How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP4980995 / WH12X10476 Pressure Switch

Replaced overflow switch and pressure tube, which was full on gunk. Then needed to blow out the air chamber on the drum with compressed air before the switch would work properly. The fault was probably due to gunk (a good technical term) in the air chamber and the pressure tube, and maybe the switch itself, causing the pressure switch not to close properly which burned its contacts and made it intermittent. 

Replaced pressure switch 

I took of the backsplash and took the hose off of the pressure switch and accidently broke off the stem of the pressure switch and the catch parts of the pressure switch. I put some Krud Cutter into the pressure switch hose and blew into it until I got air to flow. I stopped the tub from over flowing and replace the pressure switch and backsplash. 

Replaced the pressure switch hose (which was completely clogged up) and the pressure switch (just for good measure). Works perfectly now! 

Replaced pressure switch hose and pressure switch. There is a small compartment that the bottom end of hose attaches to, that had gunk and water and needed cleaned out. Used canned air to clean out compartment. That probably would have fixed the problem without any parts. 

Replacing was easy. 

Replaced it with new one, simple fix. 

I followed instructions that I found online to troubleshoot. I tested and found the water level pressure switch to be faulty. Removed and replaced the switch. It was a simple fix. Saved a ton of money. 

I ordered the pressure (load level) switch and hose and received them in two days. The installation videos were very helpful. I was able to accomplish the installations myself and had the washer running like new in no time. Thanks, Appliance Parts Pros!
