How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5272299 / WH12X10498 Rotary Temperature Switch

Since there was no cold water at the start of the cycle, and all rinse cycles on this washer use cold water, I first started the rinse cycle. The washer did fill with water during the rinse cycle, confirming that it was not the water valve. This replacement is very simple. I took a picture of the wires on the switch before removing because there are 4 of them and the connectors are all the same. 

I can only comment on the speed of delivery--ordered the part Sunday afternoon and it was delivered Tuesday. Can't beat that. On a whim, I tried the washer on cold and it worked. I'll keep the part --it was very reasonably priced. I may need it in the future. I appreciated the advice I received and the video. 

Bought a new switch from AppliancePartsPros.com and replaced it. Changed it out in about 15 minutes. New switch is working perfectly. Ordered part one day and got it the next.

It was an easy fix, the rotary temperature switch actually fell off, just had to replace re-attach that. Then apply the new knob. 

I watched the video on Appliance Parts Pros and replaced the Rotary Temperature Switch. It was a very easy and inexpensive repair and the part came next day to my surprise at no additional cost. 

After researching the problem on your website I learned that this symptom was caused by the Rotary Temperature Switch 99% of the time. I also learned that the Pressure Switch Hose can also be responsible for this problem 99% of the time. I then decided to order both Items. The parts were were received in two days and two days later I installed the Rotary Switch which at this point has cleared up my problem. I am happy with the the service provided me in to accomplish this repair.
