How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2062418 / WR12X10106 Lower Tail Handle

This was a very easy repair. I watched the video from Appliance Parts Pro and then followed the same steps. I took my time and the only issue was that I had to flip the handles from the first installation so that the trim would fit better. The replacements look like they should be able to go either way, but they were definitely directional. 

Replaced the parts from Appliance Parts Pros. The video on how to remove the tailpiece was excellent and extremely helpful. I also ordered the wrong color part (Almond vs. White) and the customer service was top notch. A very pleasant experience and by the way the refrigerator now looks brand new!! I will definitely be a return customer for all my appliances. You guys are the best. 

Replaced all parts lower tail,, handle , upper tail. Worked perfect. Only website that it was available. Was ready to give up and found this site. Saved us lots of money not to buy a new refrigerator. 

Some years ago the handles were scratched and looked terrible. I painted them and my wife said it doesn't look good and she got white duct tape and tried to make them look better and still no luck. Her birthday is coming up and it's so hard to get her anything and she wanted new handles and yesterday I replaced them and she loves it. 

Replaced the old handles with New handles. Look like a new refrigerator. 

I replaced each of the 3 parts to the fridge and freezer handle. It was extremely easy to do and took about 10 minutes. I just popped off the old parts and snapped in the new ones. 

Took off the old handles, cleaned the surface, attached the new handles. It looks like a whole new fridge. I wish I had done this years ago. I'm in love!!! 

Used videos for suggestions on repair since they did not match my parts! Handles were different than video so we had to figure them out.Also the screw was not one a normal screwdriver could remove-needed a torque screw driver which most people do not own! A note should be put on- line on the part(s) that a special screwdriver would be needed! We have a GE refrigerator about 15 yrs old and we received OEM GE parts from KY. Replacement on handles-all 3 parts- on fridge & freezer door approx. 1 hr and the hinge on refrig door about 20 minutes. Saved us mucho dollars by NOT calling a repairman! Also parts arrived in 2.5 days.
