How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2024962 / WB26X10038 Microwave Turntable Motor

Opened microwave, removed broken coupler and proceeded to short out the small motor accidentally. Searched on-line for parts, Appliance Parts Pros came up so I tried them. Found parts easily, ordered and they arrived within two days. Somewhat pricey, but worth it in this case. Easy fix - great service on parts replacement. Kudos to APP. 

Ordered needed parts from Appliance Parts Pro, parts were recieved super fast, removed 5 screws holding bottom close out. Disconnected plug to turn table motor and the light fixture. Removed 2 screw holding the motor to the bottom of the microwave. Aligned new motor in hole, installed the 2 mounting screws, aligned the turn base to match flat on motor output shaft. Plugged the 2 electrical connectors and reinstalled the bottom closeout. Easy job! 

Ordered and replaced the turntable motor. Most helpful was a video offered by AppliancePartsPros next to the picture of the part. It showed how to access the part, remove and replace it. I learned that the bottom of my microwave had been installed incorrectly, so I was able to fix that, too. 

I saw a video on YouTube that showed how easy it was to fix. Found the replacement motor on Appliance Part Pros and ordered it. When it arrived, I took off the bottom of the microwave, popped out the old motor, put in the new, and put the bottom back on. It worked like a champ. 

Very easy. 10 min. project max. All you need is a Phillips head screw drive.

Simple. I diagnosed my problem on your web site. Found what was most likely to be the problem. Looked at the "How to Fix" video, ordered the part. By the way, the part was delivered within 24 hrs. Followed the instructions from the "How To" video and WA-LA, my problem was fixed. Saved me a ton of money. I passed on my experience to my son and son in law. Thank You. Tom J
