How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2024962 / WB26X10038 Turntable Motor

I got my microwave parts book out & I ordered the parts per diagram. Appliance parts pros ships fast if its in stock. my husband put it on as soon as it arrived. My microwave is running like new. 

Purchase replacement motor for GE microwave. Super easy to replace, the install video was invaluable assistance. This only took a few minutes, time was consumed cleaning under the microwave.... 

I looked on Youtube and found some videos that indicated what the problem might be, the most common was a worn out turntable motor. I took a gamble that the motor was my problem, took the machine apart and saw that it was a fairly easy repair, and ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros.com. The part came within a couple of days, I installed it, and voila! My turntable now works. Great service, prompt delivery. Thank you. 

Ordered a new microwave turntable motor and installed it. 

Easy fix, couple screws on the bottom to remove cover. Easy access to motor, one screw fastener. 

My new part fit perfectly. Total fix was about 10 minutes. 

The video was helpful, just removed the retaining screws on bottom of unit, unplug the harness to the motor, remove the screws on the motor, take out the motor and the turntable spindle (which proved to be broken) and replaced both. Pretty easy.. Probably only needed to replace the broken plastic spindle, but better safe than sorry. The parts arrived day after I ordered even though I opted for economy shipping. Now working properly. A very satisfying experience. This unit was installed in 2003, so nice to have the old girl spinning good as new. 

Watched on YouTube on how to repair. Found parts needed with google search to find parts and where to get. 

New motor. 

First ordered the coupler, but ordered the wrong one. So ordered the motor. Watched the video on how to change it. Followed the instruction and only lost one screw! Put the new motor in and it works fine. Our microwave is nearly 20 years old. My cost was less than a service call and fixed the problem. Good service and communication.
