How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2024962 / WB26X10038 Turntable Motor

New motor. 

I watched the video Alliance Parts provided for the replacement of the turntable motor. It is very short approximately 2-3 minutes. I purchased a new turntable coupler with the turntable motor. I figured this would cover all the bases so I wouldn't have any surprises by expecting to only replace the turntable motor, only to find a defective turntable coupler. They were both reasonably priced, so I replaced them both. I did put a piece of compressed board over the gas range for my own personal comfort and to prevent the screws that I took out from falling into the range. Just remember to unplug your unit before working on to prevent electrical shock. This was a very quick clean repair. The parts I received appeared to be great quality. Overall - very happy with repair! 

Ordered part and did it by myself with the help of your video 

I looked on YouTube and found an appliance parts pro video that showed my exact model. The video was informative, so simple, but detailed enough for me, a woman with no mechanical skills to replace the motor. There was also a link to purchase the part from their website which was less expensive than GE's part replacement. We are quite pleased to have our microwave working great again. 

Replaced the motor. 

Just followed directions. Took 15 minutes. 

Ordered a new motor from AppliancePartsPROs and replaced it. 

Ordered part. It arrived a couple weeks later. Unscrewed bottom of microwave (it's over stove top). It was hinged at back (GE Profile Spacemaker). Old motor was attached by two small screws and easy to remove. Installing new one was somewhat problematic until I realized that the two screw holes on each side of the motor (for fastening it to the bottom of the microwave) are not interchangeable. There's a raised "bump on the underside of the microwave that one of the two holes fits into on each side of the motor. This avoids putting pressure on the screws as the turntable rotates. Once I figured that out, it was easy to attach the new motor. Simple instructions would have helped. The motor was exactly like the one that went bad and the replacement works perfectly.

It was very easily done, and it took less than 10 mins to complete
