How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3206207 / WB21T10014 Surface Burner Valve (Control)

After checking the continuity of the ignitor (which checked OK), I followed the instructions on your video to check the continuity of the control valve. My control valve has two sides: one for the broiler, and one for the oven. I checked all four connections and determined that the broiler side checked OK (which is what I expected, since the broiler was still working), and the oven side checked out bad. I'm a novice, so it probably took me a lot longer to fix than it would for experienced individuals. Diagnosis took about an hour. Replacement of the part took less than 45 minutes. Less than 2 hours total. 

I could see that the ignitor for the broiler was working - but the broiler would not light. I figured the oven ignitor was probably OK too. Since the cooktop was working, the main gas valve was OK. The only other item common to broiler and oven was the control valve. I ordered the one noted and it was an exact factory match. Easy to replace once the range was pulled away from the wall. I had to use some thread sealant on one of the gas connections because it was leaking when I tested it - probably a bad gasket. Replaced the control unit and I've got a working oven again! Oh yeah - I also replaced the oven ignitor since I was in the vicinity and it was 20 years old.

Gas smell from oven once the set temperature was reached and the burner turned off. Customer service was great in assisting in troubleshooting and making sure I had the correct parts for repair and reviewed with me the replacement process for the oven door gasket. Shipping was very fast. 

Replaced oven control valve. 

Replaced it with a new one. Had to modify it a little due to different fittings.
