Ordering replacement parts is cheaper and easier than calling a plumber to investigate, so it was the worth the try, and the video showed me that I could do it myself. Of course, getting the old threaded parts to budge was the hardest part. But I replaced the water inlet valve and the aging fill hose -- no more leak!
