How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4997134 / 5005DD1001B Dishwasher Silverware Basket

Purchased a new part and everything is good now. 

Replace rollers or wheels. had to use a hammer to knock off wheels. also the axles were bend had to straight. with pliers. 

Got it in a timely manner and it is even better made than the old one! 

Replaced. 

ORDER A REPLACEMENT THAT FIT PERFECT 

Finding the leak was the toughest part of the repair. When the dishwasher started leaking I went straight to the internet for possible problems. I exhaustingly checked all of the suggested sources of the leak to no avail. In the end it was the simplest answer possible. My LG dishwasher was leaking out of the drain hose. The reason it was so hard to find was because it was leaking right at the point where the drain hose exits the dishwasher. The drain hose had just worn through and had several small slits in the recesses of the hose. I ordered the parts on a Friday and they were on my doorstep when I got home from work on Monday. Replacing the entire drain hose assembly took less than 15 minutes and now the dishwasher is leak free and working great. The lesson I learned is, start with the easiest repair first. Don't automatically jump to the most difficult repairs which was what was suggested on most of the websites I visited. Not one website suggested the drain hose assembly as the culprit. 

Replaced 

Simply unscrewed the screws attaching dishwasher to underside of cabinet, pulled dishwasher out, removed broken hinge cable, and reattached new hinge cable. For silverware basket, no assembly needed, simply set new basket in to place. 

Under 10 minutes both sides.
