How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP5972814 / 4400EL2001F Dryer Belt

Replace the drum and belt. 

Researched problem on the Internet and found guidance at AppliancePartsPros.com. I then ordered the parts, they arrived timely, and I did the repair. Perfect! Great website and customer service. 

It went wonderful!! My LG dryer is 10 yo. One of the Rollers locked up and made a thumping sound when it ran. We decided to order/replace all 4 rollers, the Pulley and the belt. My husband had dbl knee replacement surgery two weeks ago so our friend said he would install all the new parts for us. After reviewing the most likely cause of a noisy dryer and watching the video of replacing the drive belt and rollers I ordered the 4 rollers and drive belt for my dryer. I played the video as I took apart and reassembled the dryer. Everything went well and the dryer no longer makes noise. The process took me about 3 1/2 hours but that was with cleaning the lint from all parts of the dryer. I did the repair with the dryer still stacked on the washer. 

Replaced the motor 

I replaced the heating element, it was very easy to do. Videos were a big help 

While doing a repair on same dryer, for a sensor replacement, I found 1 of the rollers was not turning and was flattened on one side by a 1/2 inch. So I ordered the parts, replaced both back rollers since I was there and the drum was out, as well as replacing the belt. Very Very fast shipping service. Thank you 

It was an easier fix than I imagined. The video made all the difference in the world, however. Not only did I fix my broken belt, but I hit the disassembled unit with the shop vac and compressed air (outside!!) and now have a lint-free dryer. My thanks to Appliance Parts Pros for the excellent video instructions. Without them, I wouldn't have known where to begin. 

My new motor arrived in 35 hours from AppliancePartsPros.com. I installed the new motor and replaced the idler pulley and belt while I was in there. Turned it on and my wife is very happy with the way it all went.
