How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4440210 / 5209JA1044A Ice Maker Cooling Fan Assembly

Took bottom freezer door off, then top rails, then back panel. Disconnected old part and and connected new one. Really easy to do. The hardest part was getting the freezer door back on. 

I ordered a duct assm connector - it was at my home in 24 hrs! I removed the freezer door and back of freezer compartment. Moved the old fan, installed the new. put it all back together and it's working perfectly. The only downside is that my wife was asking why I waited so long to do this??!! 

Very easy (thanks to ApplianceParts pro video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJy2uLosMY0&index=5&list=PLNI8K1QreDbTjn8ZKi6CIsSpRLUx0gWY4) swapped out blower fan (Refrigerator Ice Maker Cooling Fan Assembly (part #5209JA1044A)), took about 10 minutes (after emptying the freezer draw). All of about 12 screws to take out the sliders on either side, great tip on how to remove the plastic back area with a putty knife. What i still find hard to believe is that they got me the part shipped to my door in about 24 hours -Great job Thank You 

I ordered the parts and although the fridge model number said the duct assembly part would work with the fridge, it was not the motor/fan assembly for my model. The motor within the fan assembly, however was the same (amps, voltage) so I exchanged the motors in the housings and it has worked with a wiring clip exchange. Likely a fault of LG repair manuals/references rather than this supplier. In the future I would get the part number from the failed part for additional reference. The filter was correct, and was changed easily. 

After watching a few videos, it seemed like I either needed a new ice fan, or both a new ice fan and main control board. So I ordered both. After putting in the ice fan (which was pretty much as straightforward as the video) - the error still occurred. So I replaced the control board too (super easy) - and voila! The ice machine is working great. 

Pulled out the bottom self in the freezer and replaced the blower 

Very simple process! I entered the refrigerator model number, sourced the fan assembly on the website and the video was excellent - it was step by step and crystal clear. Highly recommend for even the most novice of DIY homeowners! 

Turned out to be the fan for the ice maker. The fan for the evaporator was next to it so I replaced it also with new rubber mounts. The fans were 15 years old. The fridge works great now. I have replaced the ice maker twice since new in 2007. Very easy fixes, just watch the videos. I have used AppliancePartsPros.com now for about 20 years. 

Pulled out old fan behind freezer wall. Was burnt out after testing. Replaced with new part. Working fine. Part arrived quicker than expected. 

I could hear the ice maker blower try to come on and then time out after 15 seconds. I had an extra main cob that I installed and that did not solve the issue, so I ordered and replaced the ice maker blower motor, and the problem was solved.
