How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP5202486 / AGM73269501 Water Inlet Valve Filter Screen

Replaced the cold water inlet valve assembly. Very simple fix. It probably only took about 10 minutes to complete. Seems to have fixed the problem. I may have to replace hot water valve as well but that will be even easier. 

Replaced both water inlet valves. Very simple repair. I was most pleased that I diagnosed the problem correctly and was able to replace the valves within 15 mins. Very happy with myself! 

Installed the new filters for the cold and hot water supplies. The code cleared and the washer was back online. 

Replaced valve with new part, in fact, I ordered both valves because of experience. And I'm glad I did because the other valve had a crack in it and wouldn't have been long before it started leaking.

Replaced the water inlet valve assembly. I was surprised how easy it was to do. A putty knife to release the panel and a screw driver to release 2 clips. Ordered the parts on Tuesday, received them the next day and the washer was back in business. The wife is happy, and when she's happy, eveybody's happy! Glad I found your site!! 

Replace it 

I checked the tubs alignment by seeing if tub moved vertically to eliminate any issues with spyder gear. I replaced the boot after watching your video. Make sure the inner side is on tight and spring clamp is fastened at the top of drum. Not bottom as I had a leak at first and re-installed it 3 times. So far 3 loads and zero issues. I removed the weights to give me more room to work. 

I pulled the washer partially off the platform it sits on. Then unscrewed the pump, disconnected hoses from underneath the washer (as it is open on the bottom), disconnected the wire pulled the pump out. Slid the pump out of its sleeve, put the new pump in the sleeve reconnected to housing. The remounted in washer, put hoses back on, plugged in them tested. Success
