How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4440977 / 6931EL3001E Thermostat Assembly

I replaced the heating element, it was very easy to do. Videos were a big help 

Replaced all ordered parts 

Replaced the High Limit Thermostat and the Thermostat Assembly. I knew the High Limit Thermostat was bad when checking it. But I decided to replace both of these parts as they are side by side on the heating element housing. 

After reading the feedback I decided to order all the parts that were the probable cause. I was delighted to see a video of the disassembly and replacement of the parts. After ordering the parts I disassembled the dryer in about 45 minutes. There were slight differences in my model but the parts were still in the same places. I found that pennies and dimes can fall out of the drum and into the bottom of the dryer. Almost two dollars worth. I did vacuum everything and wipe as much lint out as I could get. The parts came 3 days later. Installation was easy and reassembly was easy. Just follow the videos. Took about 45 minutes to install all parts and reassemble the dryer. I did test all the old parts with an ohm meter and found the high-limit thermostat was the only one that tested bad. Overall, the parts are a reasonable price and the videos are priceless. I took the dryer apart to change the high-limit thermostat and the thermostat assembly. I did not want to do all that work for nothing. You will need to take the drum out of the dryer. I decided to change both for the best. 

Needed rollers to repair my noisy dryer. Since the dryer is 16 years old I decided to replace all the thermostats while I had it apart. First, watch the repair videos, do all your research before trying to tear the dryer down. After taking it apart do the testing recommended. Don't jump to conclusions before testing. Once you determine which component has failed, double-check and review any other replacement parts that may go with it. While waiting for your parts clean the inside of the machine pay close attention to the lint trap and the exhaust tubes and hose. (seems to be the main cause for this failure) This repair was easy and we saved a lot of money.
