How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4440977 / 6931EL3001E Thermostat Assembly

Went to y’all’s website and ordered parts relevant to why the heating element wasn’t working as should. The schematics were very detailed on determining what electronic sensors could be at fault. The parts ordered were direct fit & match which made a easy repair. 

The videos were awesome and specific to the model of dryer I have. My dryer is ~14 years old with heavy use. We are the crazy cat people. I found two parts without continuity, one roller frozen and worn flat and the bulb was out. My wife had been complaining about the auto dry not working so I replaced those sensors too. In the end, I replaced everything that I thought could give me issues to include the belt. Getting to these parts is a chore and I only spent ~$70 more for the repairs. Now I have the used parts as spares in an emergency. The overnight delivery was spot on and a good value. To date the repair is holding and the dryer actually performs like it’s brand new. I did a deep cleaning too. Make sure you keep them clean and they last. 

Didn't have a chance to troubleshoot which item was bad but as another reviewer mentioned, the cost of all three was reasonable enough and I just replaced them all. Took me about one hour start to finish including pulling dryer out of its closet location. This is the third time since owning the dryer for 12 years I have taken it apart. I find it much easier taking everything off from the top down. Removing the drum allows free and unhindered access to the components in question. Ran a repair in February to replace a thermistor when we were noticing low heat symptoms. During that repair I had vacuumed all of the built-up lint inside the dryer so this time there was nothing really to clean out. Highly recommend cleaning out lint from dryer and the exhaust tube as well. Helps in the efficiency of it all. After replacing all parts in the "Low or no Heat" recommended list with exception of the humidity bar the dryer is working correctly with full heat needed to dry clothes quickly. 

I FOLLOWED THE RECOMMENDATION OF A PREVIOUS LISTING AND ORDERED ALL OF THE PARTS THAT IT COULD BE? THE TOTAL OF THE PARTS WITH SHIPPING WAS LESS THAN AN INITIAL SERVICE CALL OF A LOCAL REPAIR SERVICE. NOT SURE WHICH ONE FIXED IT BUT IT IS FIXED! THE REPAIR VIDEOS ARE VERY HELPFUL AND EASY TO FOLLOW! COULD NOT HAVE BEEN A MORE PLEASANT EXPERIENCE! 

Originally was told it was a Thermistor, which it was not. After a call with Appliance Parts Pros, we discussed changing 3 thermostats. That did the trick! The Pros were there every step of the way for me. The parts were relatively inexpensive and saved me hundreds on the cost of a new dryer. They were amazing! Sent this site to a number of friends online. Can't thank them enough! 

Last year my dryer was making a really loud noise and I went to the places that fixed dryers and they all gave me a high price to fix it. One even suggested these type of dryers should only be fix by highly trained professionals and not to try fixing it myself. I found this website and saw the suggested parts and ordered them because I saw the video and it looked simple to fix. I figured if is already broken then at least I tried. I even tried getting the parts at the place I bought it and they told me it would be very expensive part and it would be better if I just buy a new dryer. I was able to fix the problem. This year I had a different problem with the dryer it was not drying or taking a long time to dry. I ordered the part suggested on this website and it fixed the problem and they were not expensive at all. The first part I ordered didn’t solve the problem, so I order all the thermostats and the moisture sensors. It’s working now. Saved me a lot of money, the parts were not expensive. Instead of guessing what part was the one that was not working, I just ordered all the Thermostats. My dryer is a few years old so it was probably time to replace the thermostats anyway. It’s working now. 

Not a problem 

I followed the video to open up the entire cabinet to get to the blower motor. I cleaned everything, to include removing the blower wheel, cleaning, and reinstalling. I replaced thermostat on the heating element and blower, the thermistor, hi temp fuse, and The belt, which was splitting. I’ve run it for 1 cycle and is working. Will see how it holds up. Last time, I had just cleaned exhaust and replaced hi temp fuse, and it lasted 1.5 months. 

I looked on appliances part pros and the top three problem parts for heating were so inexpensive I ordered all three. The parts came very fast then I watched the how to video and was done with the job in about an hour. Great company. Thanks. 

We order 5 of the parts and replaced all parts that we order and now my dryer is working again. My recommendation would be to replace the thermostat parts first and then replace the other parts.
